The goals of this seminar are to: understand and explain environmental impact assessment (EIA) procedures (including relevant Commonwealth legislation and the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (NSW)); develop legal research and writing skills; identify the limitations and strengths of EIA regimes; and appreciate the implications of discretionary administrative decision-making (and review of decision-making) in this context.------------------
