AbstractOne problem concerns the change in water demand due to population increase. Population
growth rates in the southwest are among the highest in the nation. Arizona’s population is
projected to double in the next 50 years (Unruh and Liverman 2). An increase in population
means an increase in water usage. Groundwater is the area’s primary resource, but the amount
available is not enough to service an increasing population."
