The Protected Areas and Wildlife Bureau is a staff sectoral bureau of the
Department of Environment and Natural Resources created on June 10, 1987
through Executive Order No. 192. Its primary task under the Order is to formulate
and recommend policies and programs for the establishment of an integrated
protected areas system and the conservation of biological diversity. |

A multi-volume set which gives a good idea of the state of the PA system in the
Philippines circa 1991. They have also published Susan Wells (ed.)(1988).
Coral Reefs of the World, with information on marine sanctuaries.
There is an older IUCN book on "Protected Areas in Oceania and the
Pacific" published, if memory serves, in 1986. The Haribon Foundation
is probably one of the better contacts for current information, or
pointers to it:
