This report is based on the reports that the secretariat of
Asia-Pacific Councils for Sustainable Development (APNCSD)
have received from some countries and areas. It represents the
summary of major accomplishments of some Asia-Pacific
countries and organizations vis---vis the 1992 Rio Agreement
and subsequent UN conferences; the policy gaps and
constraints hindering the implementation of sustainability; the
critical issues and priorities in the region; success stories and
lessons learned; values and principles of sustainability;
recommendations for regional and global governance and the
processes involved in the regional consultation. |
